George Spillman is a long time resident of Sacramento County and a community leader for many years. He served twenty one years in the United States Air Force and nineteen years with the United States Postal Service retiring as a Postal Manager for the Sacramento Post Office Foothill Farms Branch. After retiring from the Postal Service, Mr. Spillman was a Substitute Instructor for seven years at the Sacramento Job Corps Center.

Mr. Spillman also served on the Sacramento Black Chamber of Commerce and spent many years as a volunteer in community service with the Sacramento Sheriff's Department including two years as a Racial Profiling Instructor. Mr. Spillman was honored by the Sacramento City Council member of District 2 with a street named after him in the 4th Phase of Del Paso Heights new housing development. This honor was in recognition of Mr. Spillman's ten years as a Supervisor and Manager of the Del Paso Heights Post Office and three years of Service on the Del Paso Heights Redevelopment Advisory Committee.

As a member of the Sheriff's Outreach Coummnuity Advisory Board he believes the goal is to ensure that the public is aware that the Sheriff Department's overall mission is to protect and serve the citizens of Sacramento County. This is accomplished through on going and up-to-date training and being sensitive to the concerns of the community.

Mr. Spillman's formal education includes a Bachelor's Degree from Southwest Texas State University and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from San Francisco's Golden Gate University.
